Following the shooting and killing of a pregnant lawyer Bolanle Raheem on Christmas day by a police ASP Drambi Vambi attached to the Ajiwe police station, the police authority redeployed a new Divisional Police Officer CSP Adolf Ogwu who was transferred from the Bariga police station to the Ajiwe police station. It was also gathered that policemen were transferred from the station while nearby drinking joints were dismantled to forestall any form of intoxication by policemen attached to the station.
Following the redeployment of CSP Ogwu, rights groups under the auspices of Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN has condemned his posting to Ajiwe police station. ACVPN coordinator Mr. Ebenezer Omiejalile said ** The posting of this same DPO to Ajiwe Police Station is putting a square peg in round hole we say to such a costly posting.Despite several protests against this same DPO . It simply confirmed several allegations that such persons with questionable character buy their way through in other to be posted to juicy location**
Also , a right advocate Mr Okhla said ***It's not all the Ajah division police officers were posted out, just few of about 2 percent of them that were transferred. The main human right abusers and DNA corrupt ones are still within the division, the police just told the public what they wanted to hear based on public opinion, I stand to be corrected NOT ALL the Ajah police officers were posted out, let's not deceive the public**
