Police arrest men for allegedly stealing cars in Redemption Camp

 in Two men, Friday Ezi 43yrs of No.5 Adesuah Iyamo Benin-City and Onyekachi Atama 27yrs of Akabigbo Street Ugwuagba Onitsha have been arrested by operatives of Ogun State police Command for stealing up to seven vehicles belonging to different individuals at Redemption Camp during their various religious programs.
The suspects were arrested following a report by one Titilayo Otitodogbon who reported at Redeemed camp police station on the 1st of February 2020 that she parked her Toyota Camry car with registration number LND 636 EZ at Diligent road, Redemption Camp, but on getting back to the place in the evening of the same day, the car has been removed from the park by unknown thief/thieves.
Upon her report, the DPO Redeemed Camp, CSP Chris Amanyi detailed his detectives to swing into action and bring the perpetrators to book.
The detectives embarked on full scale forensic and technical investigation which yielded positive result when one Friday Ezi who actually stole the car from redeemed Camp was traced to Edo State where he was promptly arrested on the 10th of March 2020. His arrest and eventual confessional statement led the operatives to Onitsha in Anambra State where one Onyekachi Atama who is his receiver and an accomplice was also arrested on the 15thof March 2020.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have stolen up to seven different cars at the Camp but they confessed to have stolen only two cars at different occasion.
Onyekachi Atama who is a spare parts dealer at motor parts market in Onitsha confessed that once the vehicles were brought to him by Friday Ezi, he used to balkanized it and sell such vehicles in parts.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson who commended the investigative team for a job well-done has directed that the suspects be transferred to Anti car theft section of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for proper investigation and prosecution.

COVID-19 Police take  enforcement to Markets, Shopping Malls, Stores, Eateries, Businesses and gatherings of more than 25 persons in Lagos State.

Lagos State Police Command has in the last 6 days deployed its resources across the State to ensure that the guidelines and directives issued by both the Federal and State Governments to prevent the spread of Corona virus are fully obeyed. The enforcement team shut down 8 clubs, 15 schools, 6 event centres and 8 places of worship for non compliance.
 A statement by the police spokesperson in Lagos on Thursday read
" With the directives issued by Lagos State Government on Tuesday 24th March, 2020, the enforcement will now be extended to all markets and stores, except markets that are selling food items, water, medicine, pharmacies, medical equipment and other related essential life saving products, with effect from Thursday 26th March, 2020."
The statement added
"Corporate bodies such as financial institutions, telecommunication companies and businesses not affected by the ban should also ensure that both their employees and customers/clients are not more than 25 in number at a time. Staff should be posted to ATM stands to ensure that customers using the services space themselves to avoid body contact.Eateries should encourage their customers to use take away services and those who must sit in the restaurant/eatery should apply the required spacing guidelines. Eateries should not have more that 25 persons at a time, including their staff"

Hotels should only operate lodging and accommodation services with minimal number of staff on duty. Conference and event halls, swimming  pools and other services attracting crowds should be suspended in line with the order and directives of the Government.
The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu enjoined the good people of Lagos State to obey the safety regulations put in place by Government for the benefit of everyone.

  Police arrest Teacher for allegedly defiling 14 years old student

A secondary school teacher Azunyere Chima was on 22nd of March 2020 arrested by men of Ogun State police command for allegedly forcefully having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 14yr old student (Name withheld).
According to the police, the 23yr old teacher was apprehended following a report by the father of the victim who reported at Ibafo divisional headquarters that his daughter was lured to the house of the suspect who happened to be her ART teacher under the pretence that he wanted to help her on her practical work, but on getting to his house, the suspect dragged her into his room, over powered and forcefully had sex with her as a result of which the victim was bleeding seriously from her private part.
Upon the report, the DPO Ibafo, SP Abiodun Ayinde detailed his detectives to the residence of the suspect at No.2 Unity close Aseese where he was promptly arrested.
He has since made a confessional statement to the police, while the victim has been taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has directed that the suspect be transferred to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for proper investigation

MAN  STAB 32 YEARS OLD MAN WITH SCISSORS ON SUSPICION OF HAVING AFFAIR WITH HIS WIFE.

A 35 year old man Habeeb Kasali has been arrested by men of Ogun state police command for  allegedly killing a 32yr old Bamidele Johnson on the suspicion that the deceased was sleeping with his wife.
Ogun State spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement revealed how the suspect was arrested.
"following an information received by the police at Igbesa divisional headquarters from a relation of the deceased who informed the police that fight ensued between the suspect and the deceased at Totowu area  when the suspect confronted the deceased of having an affair with his wife despite several warning from him. 
In the process, the suspect used scissors to stab the deceased severally on his chest, eye and neck as a result of which the deceased lost his consciousness.
He was immediately rushed to CREST hospital at Isuti road Egan in Lagos where he was confirmed been brought in dead by the doctor.
Having realized that the victim has died, the suspect took to his heels, but the DPO igbesa divisional headquarters SP Abayomi Adeniji quickly despatched his detectives to go after him and he was eventually arrested from where he ran to."
The corpse has been recovered and deposited at the Ota general hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.


RRS enforces restriction on social gathering

Commander, Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS, DCP Olatunji Disu this morning forced the management of Victorious Army International Church to comply with the Lagos State Government’s directive limiting gathering to 50 persons to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the State.

The enforcement, which was based on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu was led by DCP Olatunji Disu. 

The team got to the Acme Road branch of the church at past 9:00 a.m. only to be locked out by the church. Officials of the church were seen scampering around to inform other members of the presence of the police.

When the entrance gate was opened, some belligerent church members who saw one of the enforcement officers recording the church activities attacked them, seized two mobile phones, a Samsung S 8+ and Samsung J4.
The members equally attacked TVC reporter, Ivy Kanu and almost seized her phone. TVC camera man was equally attacked as they tried unsuccessfully to prevent him from recording in and out of the church premises.

DCP Disu in de-escalating the crisis prevailed on the management of the church to discontinue the service and prune down the attendance to reflect the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu’s directive.

As at the time of filing this report, one of the phones, a Samsung S 8+ is still being held by the church after reluctantly producing a Samsung J4.

The team commenced compliance monitoring as early as 7:00 a.m. visited religious organisations in Alausa, Agidingbi, ACME Road, Akilo, Ogba, Aguda, Yahaya Abatan, Omole, Ojodu,  Ogudu, Oregun, Toyin, Ikeja GRA, Allen and Opebi. Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way,  Olowopopo, Jobi Fele Way, Alapere, Oba Akran and Obafemi Awolowo Way.

There was total compliance on all the places visited. Some churches visited had their services online while some had banners tied to their entrance informing worshippers to go back home.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has advised Lagosians, club owners and religious bodies to comply with  State Government's directive, as the police would continue to monitor compliance.

Covid-19: IGP Orders Zonal AIGs/Command CPs to Enforce Social Restriction Orders
- Warns against unnecessary arrests/detention of suspects

Against the backdrop of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) global health threat and the subsequent social restriction orders imposed by governments at all levels, to enable its containment, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A. Adamu, NPM, mni while enjoining citizens to voluntarily adhere to the orders, directs all Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and Commissioners of Police nationwide to ensure that all legitimate orders given in pursuant to the containment efforts are strictly enforced within their areas of jurisdiction.

The IGP, while urging officers to observe personal safety measures, further directs the Zonal AIGs and Command CPs to ensure that cases of unnecessary arrests and detention of suspects are not condoned. He reiterates that detention of suspects must be reduced to the barest minimum and that only very serious cases such as terrorism, armed robbery, homicide and other non-bailable offences should warrant detention. The IGP further directs that adequate measures be emplaced to screen persons to be committed into police custody.

The IGP enjoins citizens to avoid social visits to police stations and other police offices and minimize official visits, except where absolutely necessary. Meanwhile, the IGP has ordered Command CPs to immediately publicize phone numbers of their Command Control Rooms, Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and other Tactical Commanders using the conventional and non- conventional media in order to facilitate alternative interacting and reporting options between the Public and the Police 

Also, in compliance with the Federal Government’s directive that all tertiary institutions be shut, the IGP has ordered the immediate closure of the Nigeria Police Academy as well as all Police Primary and Secondary Schools nationwide. Meanwhile, the Force Medical Services has been empowered and directed to step up sensitization programmes across Commands, Formations and Barracks in the country.

Ban on social gathering: We are full to the task - Police.

Lagos state police command said it has began the enforcement of ban on social gatherings, clubs, parties, ceremonies and religion gatherings of more than 50 persons in Lagos State.
A statement by DSP Bala Elkana, read
''lagos State Police Command wishes to inform the General Public that the Command in compliance with the guidelines and directives issued by both the Federal Government and Lagos State Government on prevention of the spread of Corona virus popularly known as Covid 19 which the World Health Organisation has declared as a pandemic, has embarked on massive enforcement of the ban order.
To that effect, the Command has deployed adequate resources across the State to ensure that the orders are fully obeyed. The order imposed bans on social gatherings such as, wedding ceremonies, naming ceremonies, burial ceremonies, parties, clubs and religion gatherings of people more than 50. Commercial vehicles carrying passengers above capacity (overloading) are also part of this order. Members of the public are encouraged to avoid overcrowding themselves at bus stops, market places, business places and scene of incidents. Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc called on the good people of Lagos State to obey the safety regulations put in place for the benefit of everyone. We must be alive and healthy before socio economic activities will be effective. he Command has rolled out its medical team to market places for awareness creation and Police detention facilities to safeguard the safety of suspects. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the immediate release of suspects arrested for minor offences as part of preventive measures. SEVENTY FIVE YEARS OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILLING MINORS IN OKIJA*

On the 17/3/2020 at about 11:am, following a formal complaint, Police operatives attached to Okija Division arrested one Raphael Mbanyereude alias (Papa Okoye)'m' aged 75years  of Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge with two minors all females, aged 2 and four years(Children of same parent) respectively.

The dastardly act was discovered by the Children's mother when she saw her children crying and holding their private parts.She then became curious and checked only to discover water coming out and their private parts became reddish as well.

Meanwhile,victims were taken to the hospital for medical examination where laceration of their hymen was confirmed.Suspect has voluntary confessed to the crime.

Consequently,the Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* has ordered for immediate transfer of the case to the State CID for discreet investigation after which suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution.The CP equally enjoined parents to strictly monitor their children in order to avert similar ugly incidents please.

THREE FAKE SOLDIERS ARRESTED IN OGUN.

Men of Ogun state police command on Friday 3th of March 2020 arrested three men who impersonating to be military men.
The three men were arrested in military camouflage in agbado area of the state while the DPO of Agbado division sp kuranga Yero was on routine patrol of his area with his patrol team.
The suspects namely: Jacob Onebi m' 36, Olabode Oluwaseun m' 35, and Olanrewaju Adebayo m 33 have been on close watch of the police following series of report from members of the public about their illegal activities in the area. On sighting them on that fateful day, the DPO and his men accosted them and demanded for their proper identity.
The suspects claimed initially to be officers of 174 Battalion Ikorodu, but on further investigation, two amongst them confessed to have been dismissed from the Nigerian army long time ago while the third happened to be their friend who was coopted into their nefarious activities.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.
 BARUWA DISCLAIMS  IYERU’s RUMOUR.

The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa has disclaimed the rumour that he has affirmed the Chairmanship of  Alhaji Hakeem Bodunrin aka Iyeru in Ogun State.
Baruwa said this  on Thursday 19th of March, 2020 after reading about the allegation leveled against him from a website on the internet .
The NURTW President warned against any rumour against him by some internet imposters and also against anyone picking words against him which can cause the breach of peace of members in the state and in Nigeria.
According to Alhaji Baruwa,”I never emphasized that Hakeem Bodunri, aka Iyeru is the authentic State Chairman of the State and has never asked to constitute his members for any inauguration”.
He said,”Iyeru came to visit me for the first time since I emerged as the President of the Union on Wednesday 18th of March 2020 and I welcomed him and his team as the President of the Union.”
Meanwhile for the benefit of those who are not aware of the happenings, the leadership tussle of the union in Ogun State was twice adjudicated upon by courts of competent jurisdiction, the authenticity of Comrade Mustapha Ismaila Adewale aka Yaro Ade led executives as duly elected. They have been issued the certificate of return.
Now claiming that I the President of the union declared Hakeem as the Ogun State NURTW Chairman is out of place and only in the writers widest imagination and nothing of such ever happened and am warning all the members of the union in the thirty -six States of the Federation including the Federal capital,Abuja to stop the dissemination of fake rumour against the union because anything said without measure is meagre.
Desist from spreading rumors, all union crisis must remain in the Union and be settled within the union by the Organ of the union at the National Headquarters according to the union constitution as stated in article 42 section 8 paragraph 4 and 5 as amended in 2018.

9 Brigade Cantonment Gets New Spokesperson.

      The new Assistant Director Army Public Relations 9 Brigade Nigerian Army Maj Augustine Kolawole Bello has assumed duty . Major Bello took over from Major Kehinde Abioade who was posted  to the 8 Brigade Sokoto State.
Major Bello is a seasoned  army officer who have served in various military capacity both within and outside the country.Since his commission, the senior officer has attended relevant courses and seminars both within and abroad commensurate to his rank.The Senior officer has held several appointments, some which include Officer Commanding in operation Lafia Dole,Military lnformation Officer in UN missions,Assistant Director in various Nigerian Army Brigades and Corps HQs,he was the Assistant Director Army public Relations HQ Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji Military Contonment before his appointment as the Assistant Director Army Public Relations 9 Brigade Nigerian Army. He is a member of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.He is so eloquent,vibrant,social,proactive and professional.

Cult killings is scaring us from campus-- BSU students.

BSU  Students living in fear as deadly cult killings allegedly claims eight students  in two months.


Suspected cult groups are engaging in deadly fights at the Benue State University Makurdi.
These cult groups according to the students have turned studying to a nightmarish experience for them.
It was gathered that in the last two months, eight male students  have been brutally killed in cult related killings.
The latest victim was identified as Isaac Nater Nyiyongo, who last registered in the 2016/2017 session as a 200 Level student in the Department of political science. Sources said he was chased  into the school and his skull smashed opened infront of the university library on Wednesday.

Another student who was brutally murdered was identified as  one Simon Shija while  another victim  was identified simply as  Tervershima. Both Shija and Tervershima have since been buried.
Friends , classmates of the deceased were said to have held candle light procession for them before they were laid to mother earth.
Students who spoke said they are living in fear and many left the school at the weekend.
A student who requested anonimity said. " This is at least the eighth cult related killings this year. The  students are in their final year .The university authority see it as normal and we are scared."
Another student who also requested anonimity said students are fleeing the campus to avert being catch in the killings. "This is the eighth killing since January. Reasons for the killing is cult supremacy clash, revenge for members that where killed  and sometimes its hatred and mistaken identity.We all trying to be careful. Most students have fled the university. Gyado Villa outside the campus is one of the  communities which has recorded the highest killings this year."
A student who gave her name simply as  Ruth said  cult groups are against publicizing identities of slain members.   family members and alleged cult gangs  do not want publicity of the killings. They put us in fear as they can attack anyone they see   to be giving out information about their killings and death of their loved ones".
When contacted, the Benue State Police command  spokesperson Anene Catherine  said " We have one death this week but they have been other deaths. There is cult killing and we have been managing it since I  came in December. We have not made arrest yet but we are managing the it".

BREAKING NEWS:NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL COURT STRIKE  OUT CASE AGAINST  OGUN STATE NURTW

The National Industrial Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division, Oyo State has today struck out the case brought before it by some aggrieved members of the Union antagonizing the Ogun State National Union of Road Transport Workers  election that was held on the 12th of December last year.
After giving advice and instructions to both parties at the last sitting of the court on the case on the 3rd of March, 2020, the  Chief Judge, Justice Dada Dele Peters struck out the case to uphold the election of Alhaji Mustapha Ismail as the authentic Chairman of the Ogun State National Union of Road Transport Workers Ogun State.

The court struck out the case to uphold the election of Alhaji Mustapha Ismail and his management base on article 42  Section 8 Subsection 4 and 5 of the NURTW constitution.
Following the declaration, there was wild jubilation  at the Industrial Court as members celebrate.
