Right group rescues girl ,13, with her 9 months old child from "abusive cousin" who threatened to sell her baby for N2million.

A 13 year old mother with her nine months old child have been rescued at Adeba in Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos state.

Before her rescue, a source with the Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN said " Her cousin auntie said ,she will refund two millions naira for upkeep for her and her baby, or she collect the baby in place of 2millions".

Narrating how the girl was allegedly subjected to abuse by her cousin identified simple as Dora, the source said " She and her daughter needs help. She was physically abuse with razor cut over her body .She said that she was raped in her village when she was 12 last year before her cousin brought her to Lagos. Now her cousin has been treating her badly, she want to send her to the village without her baby. Or she should pay 2m that she has spent to take care of her, that's the only time she can get her baby.Possibly she has negotiated with a prospective buyer of the baby that's why she came up with the idea of either 2M or the Baby. Criminals are everywhere. Thanks to WAPA for the swift response.

lay is dangerous! For the adolescent mother and her 9months baby.

It was gathered that the right group rescued the girl and her baby and

police extract was obtained from Elemoro police station on January 24th.

The source added "The Teenage girl and her 9months old baby girl along with her elder cousin ( Alleged suspect) were all transferred to Lagos State ministry of Youth Social Development (MYSD) Alausa Ikeja.Thereafter all parties involved moved to Gender Unit Lagos State police Command, of which another extract was issued to Child Protection unit (CPU) Lagos Ministry of Youth and Social Development MYSD.The Teenage mother and her 9months old daughter were eventually taken to a government approved shelter".

The source expressed displeasure with the way the teenage mother was allegedly threatened to drop allegations of assaults.

"It was so unfortunate that that the suspect was able to brain wash the survivor overnight to change her statement.Surprisingly survivor said that she is fine that her elder cousin is taking care of her. Thankfully I had her recorded audio statement with me which I played immediately I noticed a foul play. The survivor became so confused and scared to speak.Surprisingly, Gender Unit said that there is no strong evidence against Dora (the alleged perpetrator) because the perpetrator said that she is well taken care of. Therefore the police said they need to visit the scene of crime. We demand a thorough investigation which must be followed to the latter.Together we say no to teenage pregnancy"
