Jungle Justice : Three men castrated for robbery, rape . Two of them did not survive the ordeal .

According to ghananews, a shocking incident unfolded in Nyanga, a township located in Cape Town, South Africa, where three out of four suspects involved in a hijacking, robbery, and rape case lost their lives in a brutal act of retribution.

Allegedly, taxi drivers in the area took the law into their own hands, inflicting a gruesome punishment on the suspects by severing their private parts. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about vigilantism and the breakdown of law and order.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident took place late last night when the suspects hijacked an Avanza, a popular minivan model used for public transportation. The suspects reportedly used the vehicle to commit multiple crimes, robbery and rape. Their actions left the community in a state of fear and outrage.

In what can only be described as a harrowing turn of events, taxi drivers from the area caught up with the suspects and took matters into their own hands. As a form of vigilante justice, it is alleged that the taxi drivers retaliated by castrating the suspects, resulting in their subsequent deaths. The incident highlights the deep frustration and anger among the community towards rising crime rates and the perceived lack of effective action from law enforcement.

Police and paramedics swiftly responded to the scene following reports of the incident. They discovered the lifeless bodies of three suspects, while one survived the horrifying ordeal and was immediately attended to by medical professionals. The survivor was later taken into police custody, and investigations into the entire incident have been initiated.

The incident has sparked a heated debate within the community and across the country, with opinions divided on the actions of the taxi drivers. While some residents sympathize with the frustration that led to such extreme retaliation, others condemn the act as a dangerous erosion of the justice system and the rule of law.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has condemned the incident and emphasized the importance of allowing the legal system to handle criminal cases. They have urged the public to have faith in law enforcement agencies and promised to intensify efforts to combat crime in the area.

As the investigation continues, it is clear that this incident highlights the deep-seated issues of crime, vigilantism, and frustration with the justice system in South Africa. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for improved law enforcement, community engagement, and effective measures to address the root causes of crime in order to prevent such acts of vigilantism from occurring in the future.

Court orders Seun Kuti to live with police men he disdains for two days.

Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun of the Yaba court has ordered that Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, be kept in police cell for two day over allegations that he assaulted a police officer.

The police prosecution, led by S. A Adebese and Morufu Animashaun, pleaded with Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun of the Yaba court , to order that Kuti be kept in police custody for 21 days pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution DPP

However, Kuti’s attorney, led by Femi Falana (SAN), begged the court not to remand his client, claiming that they were unaware of the remand application.

After hearing both parties, the magistrate asked for five-minute break to allow her to think on her own. Upon her return, the magistrate stated that she would not rely on police inquiry and thus remanded the defendant in police custody for 48 hours.

Delivering her judgment, she ordered that the musician be held in police custody for 48 hours before being granted bail in the sum of N1 million.

Trouble started for Kuti when he was captured in a viral video assaulting a police officer. .

Speaking on the arrest one Kenneth Omos said

" There is a video making the rounds on the internet showing Kuti bragging to many slaps police officers have received from him. The assault is considered by many as an irony since Kuti had been a strong campaigner against police brutality . Therefore ,seeing him doing what he condemned the police of is shocking to me and many Nigerians and I want him to be prosecuted him to the latter".

A trader Ayo Olumide said " It is sad that we do not have human rights activists but those claiming to be human rights activists are civilian rights activists. If not why will they be pampering what Seun Kuti did as provocation? If it was a policemen that slapped Kuti like that , the so called endsars advocates would be calling for the head of the policeman. But they are mute and some who are speaking are not condemning Seun's action. I see them as hypocrites , double standard activists . We can see that Falana that is standing as is lawyer for Seun is not a human rights activist. If you say you are a human right activist, your activism should be for all human beings. Are policemen not human beings? We can see his buddies like Mr. Macaroni, Peter Okoye including an Arise TV journalist Oseni Rufia rather than condemn Kuti's assault on the policeman as they do when policemen assault civilians are berating Lagos state police command for handcuffing him not minding the fact that Kuti may loose his temper and slap , assault another policeman. He is seen as a dangerous man who slaps policemen and brags about it. He thinks he is above the law but the long arm of the law had catch up with him".

A civil servant Mrs Ayoka Martains said " Seun's so called human rights activists friends and lawyers have shown Nigerians and the world whom they truly are. If Falana is truly a human rights activist, he should be defending the assaulted policeman , rather, see him defending a man who slaps and curses , promoting violence against his fellow human being. If it was a civilian that Seun attacked, they would have downplayed his offence because he has been masquerading as a human rights activist, whereas he is as bad like the policemen he condemned and it's sad that Falana is defending him.".
