The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin has confirmed that the Ajiwe police station has no drunken policeman as the state command has since cleared the station of near by shanties where alcoholic beverages were allegedly sold.
SP Hundeyin was reacting to a newspaper publication on Monday where he stated that the new Divisional Police Officer of the Ajiwe police station where one ASP Drambi Vambi allegedly shot a female lawyer dead on Christmas Day has since prior to the publication cleared drinking joints around the area. He revealed that the command has taken proactive steps to stop any abuse of alcoholic beverages in and around the station.
SP Hundeyin in a series of tweets on Monday said, “I can confirm that this publication has been overtaken by events. The new DPO Ajah, CSP Adolf Ogwu, had earlier in the week dismantled all the shanties around the police station.
