20 rights groups accuse PMExpress publisher, Cyriacus of unprofessional journalism, want story on survivor retracted.

 -

-- I'm suing him --- Survivor

----" I will not retract,  I stand on my story" -- Mr. Izuekwe

The Advocate for children and Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN a  coalition of over twenty rights groups promoting the rights of vulnerable persons, children and women has called out one Mr. Cyriacus Izuekwe to retract a story he published against one Miss Kelechi Joseph a 20 year old Sales Rep.
Miss Kelechi is said to be a survivor of attempted rape which she reported to the ACVPN.
Following her compliant that a Comedy Skit producer one  Agausim Gabriel allegedly lured her to a hotel and attempted to rape her and still went ahead to accuse her of armed robbery, the ACVPN took up the matter and the case was transferred from the Ipaja police station to  the SCID Panti  Yaba.
While this was going on, a report appeared on the PM Express website titled " how lady hires armed robbers in military uniform to kill jilted lover ".
Following the publication Kelechi and ACVPN have said the publication is not only a fabrication of lies aimed at damaging her reputation but also unprofessional as the PMExpress medium did not hear her side of the story before going to press.
However, Mr. Izuekwe  maintained that he will not retract the story.
Following the publication which is  circulating on social media, the ACVPN said on Thursday gave a 24 hours ultimatum to Mr. Izuekwe to retract the story against Miss Joseph failure which will prompt the ACVPN and Miss Joseph to institute a legal action against him.
ACVPN has said
"Good afternoon sir, it has been brought to our notice that several media organizations are running with this story, the survivor called that her boss called her attention to the story on Instablog and it's giving her problems at work! I implore you to please retract this story now as the case is taking a new dimension across the globe as it seems they are trying to turn a survivor into a suspect !
Findings show that the allegations that the lady came with army who were armed is a lie! I stand to be corrected but it was revealed that they were Air force cadets who weren't armed as earlier reported but it was Gabriel's friend who dropped the items seized with them as a bait so that he can come out. Two of the items have since been returned as we speak!
The Survivor insists on Justice as all this is a result of the injustice that she survived in the hands of the DPO &IPO at the Ipaja Police Station'. The story should be retracted so as to avoid consequences when the case goes to court as it might result in Litigation against the Publisher, all the Fabricated lies will also be addressed too".
Dr.  Yolanda Davis of the Aunt Landa Bethel foundation stated  "Whether pmexpressng retracts their story or not... A lesson should be made out of this... no responsible journalist will encourage and peddle lies on behalf of an accused abuser because he asked nicely...lied convincingly or sorted them out... How can we in 2021 claim we are fighting for gender equality and then we make it ok... for a survivor's character to be put through such outrageous lies"
Mr. Izuekwe on his part said " Sir, with due respect, we stand on the story because it was investigated and confirmed the facts therein. I have more facts on this matter and may likely uploaded it here if there is any doubt on my integrity as a crime reporter. I have practice journalism for many years and have always been on the side of victims but on this case, what was reported was the facts of the matter. Military, police, or any of other set of people or gang who use weapon including gun, knife and other object to forcefully take another person property is armed robbery. We stand by the story sir. we practice responsible journalism, if you doubt my integrity, I will upload all the my investigation information. When I said they were lovers, some doubted  but subsequent developments have proved me right. We are are aware two laptops have been returned confirming the robbery operation in Gabriel's house.
Also condemning the publication, Ebeneezer Omejalile the coordinator of ACVPN said " I must confess we are disappointed with this type of publication. The general slogan says Shame the Abuser and protect the Survivor, with this type of malicious,  publication , where does the fate of so many yet to be identified molested ladies who had similar experience in the hands of Gabriel, and RORORIBS whose real is Thank God.

We are making it clear we are not in support of this type irresponsible, Unprofessional conduct,  Character Defamation, of Genuine survivors. The way things are going we will not  hesitate to join as Nominal Complainant against who so ever is involved in this unprofessional conduct.

Those who conspired against Kelechi in this calculated misadventures should note that what goes around would surely come around .

Except you don't have daughters, In the next 24 hours if this Malicious post is not pull down from the Instablog and medium we are aware off , we will be left with no other choice than to delete perpetrators  of this Ungodly adventure. Enough is Enough".
In response, Mr. Cyracus who had  claimed he has a video showing Kelechi naked with Gabriel fired back. " You can't call my write up irresponsible publication, I have my facts. And in journalism facts are sacred. The story is a facts, if you provoke me, I will upload my interviews video here or on social media" We should not allow our emotions to becloud our sense of judgement. I don't know Gabriel Uzoma.  I just did my investigation and made my report. Already, she has started making restitution".
Miss Kelechi however said she has not met or recieved any call from Mr. Izuekwe " I don't know this man and I don't know why he is writing this against me. He never called me to hear my side of the story I am  suing him , PMExpress and the Ipaja police DPO for damaging my reputation. He said he has video of me naked with Gabriel why has he not uploaded it ?".

Miss Joseph said "  I  am a resource person for a clothing line. I was introduced to one Agwasim Gabriel who claimed to be a Comedy Skit producer. I got a call from  GABRIEL to come over to an hotel called Wood West Hotel for a Comedy skit auditioning some where within Badore Area Ajah. When I got to the hotel. I  saw a lot of girls in the hotel reception , immediately I  was called upon to come upstairs for my costume.  When I  went upstairs unknowingly to me, it was a trap set up by AGWASIM GABRIEL and his accomplice RORORIBS AYAMI OKORA.I was told to lay down on the bed so that they could have sex with me  but  I  declined which  resulted to severe beating. I ran into the bathroom and started screaming for help but they said the security officials of the hotel cannot help me as they are also working for them. I tried to run out of the room but the door was locked. They forcefully collected 4,500 and forced me  to transfer 7,500 from my account to  their account. AGWASIM GABRIEL and RORORIBS AYAMI OKORA told me that  the girls I saw at the lounge of the hotel  experienced same thing and they are cool with it. They told me  if I  dare mentioned what transpired in the hotel to anyone the would stop at nothing to eliminate me"

"They  threw me  out of the hotel like a piece of thrash. I  was terrified and confused and I called  on my  friend  a Cadet in the Nigeria Army   outside Lagos. The cadet officer linked me up  to three of his  colleagues ,the officers accompanied me  to AGWASIM GABRIELS house somewhere in Ijegun Alimoso LGA, On getting to the house they met his family members who turned out to be a lie rather they were just friends".
Miss Joseph added  that when  the friends realized what AGWASIM GABRIEL had done they offered to release his camera and two laptops of which one of the laptops was faulty , this would serve as a bait for AGWASIM GABRIEL and RORORIBS AYAMI OKORA to be arrested"

Miss Joseph stated that she started receiving calls from two ladies disguising as if they wanted to buy some clothing items.
"One of the ladies went as far as proposing to me to be her Lesbian partner , unknowingly to me , these ladies work with AGWASIM GABRIEL and RORORIBS AYAMI OKORA.I  was arrested and detained for four days inside the same cell with men by Ipaja Ayobo police station as  GABRIEL had reported at Ipaja police station claiming I and my soldier friends   robbed him of 250,000, damaged his plasma TV ,Laptops and camera which was over N1 million.

" I was branded all manners of name such as prostitute, a useless girl ,It was discovered that the IPO one Officer Mr. AYENI knows  AGWASIM GABRIEL and RORORIBS AYAMI OKORA.They demanded for 100,000 so that they would now turned the against AGWASIM GABRIEL and RORORIBS AYAMI OKORA despite damning evidence. The Ipaja police station DPO  called me all manners of awful names that if I am  not a prostitute, why would I be working in Lekki area of Lagos. The DPO ordered Gabriel and I should  be detained over night and to my surprise AGWASIM GABRIEL was released and I  was left in the cell for four days among men. I was subjected to sweep the entire police station compound. I was also subjected to wash the police station toilets for four days.

The IPO Mr. AYENI told me  to pay one  million naira as damages to AGWASIM GABRIEL and RORORIBS AYAMI OKORA both men who lured and deceived several vulnerable ladies , raped them and rob them off their belongings  and still alleged them of theft with the conspiracy of Ipaja police station"
Mr. Izuekwe however stated that he spoke with Mr. Agwasim and he told thin that Miss Joseph is his girlfriend and he didn't steal from her.

Lawyer allegedly "hires" soldiers, thugs to evict landlord , occupants from Lagos Ebute Metta homes.
--- The house is mine, they are illegal occupants --lawyer.

Barely one week after Lagos Mainland Ebute Metta residents   and their landlord sent an  SOS to FG, others over eviction threat, their worst fear hit on them hard as at early as 5am on Saturday, they were forcefully evicted from No. 17 Desalu Street Ebute-Metta West, Lagos.
Obviously, their Save-our-souls to the Federal and Lagos State governments over  alleged planned forceful eviction from their home were not taken seriously following which as they were fast asleep, soldiers, gun and cutlass wielding thugs stormed the 50 years  apartment, beat and  chased the sleepy occupants as the hired soldiers and thugs went on to loot and destroy property of the occupants residents said.
It was also gathered that the hired soldiers abducted the landlord of the property one Mr. Olusegun Farodode while he was fast asleep to an unknown destination in order for them to actualise the forced demolition, residents said.
Mr. Faradode one of administrators of the house said he as well as his wife and other occupants were beaten mercilessly by the hired soldiers.
He said " I was fast asleep in my room with my wife when about 5am, we started hearing strange noise. Before I could get out of bed, some soldiers held me and dragged me. They started hitting me. They said I was the trouble maker. They brought me out and went to ransack the apartments to chase everyone out. As I was trying to call on my mobile phone, they collected the phone and dragged me into a vehicle. I looked around and  saw  thugs with cutlasses and guns surrounding the house and threatening to kill anyone. The soldiers drove me from the house to Oshodi area that early morning and left me on the road. One of them gave me slippers and they drove off. By the time I succeeded in getting back to the house from Oshodi, they have chased, demolished and beaten the occupants. My room and over 16 other apartments having men, women, children and the elderly were demolished with a caterpillar tractor they brought. The occupants were not allowed to take a pin. At the moment, they are outside in this cold weather with nowhere to go".
It was gathered that the police authority  arrested one Alhaji Kazeem and have invited one Barr.  Mariam Sosina over their role in the forced demolition and eviction.
When contacted Barr. Sosina said she is the owner of the house.
She said ' That property is mine. I bought it for N30million from the family seven years ago. I have the land paper. Mr. Segun refused to vacant the property. I have a PhD in law not from Nigeria but from the West Indies. If you publish anything against me, I will sue you and your newspaper".

In a petition to the FG and IGP, Mr  Faradode, said: “The property belonged to my late father. I was born and bred in the house with other siblings and relatives. That house is our family house and has been ours for over 50 years. When my father died, my elder brothers started managing the house. I am one of the four administrators of the house and since my brother died,  Barr. Sosina came up to say that she bought the property from our late brother for N30 million. Neither me nor my lawyer signed any documents or permitted, by writing or word of mouth, that I was a party to the sale of the house.

“My brother whom she  claimed sold it to her is dead. Instead of her going through the court, she  used soldiers, thugs, armed with lethal weapons, to forcefully evict me and other occupants”
A human right activist Mr. Musbau Agbodemu expressed sadness over the forced demolition and eviction of the occupants. " As I  am talking to you, the occupants and landlord with children and elderly have come to seek justice. They  are now rendered homeless. Is Nigeria a Banana Republican that people will resort to self help and take the laws into their hands?  We understand that the matter of the sale of the house  is in the court so why descending  to forcefully evict  people while they are sleeping, injured them and  their rights are abused despite the fact that they saw this coming and they reached out to government and police yet nothing was done to stop this forced demolition and eviction.

I was humiliated by Ipaja police DPO, kept in cell with men, forced to wash police toilets, sweep police station compound--- victim of job scam.

The growing unemployment among the youth in the country is making  many young ladies to become endangered species. In their zeal to make ends meet, these ladies in their twenties are being exposed to a rising new crime tactics which targets their vulnerability and desperation to earn a living.
The  modus operandi of the perpetrators of this crime is to place fake  job adverts  on the social media  and by words of mouth. These fictitious jobs ranges from sales reps, modelling, comedy skit role, movie roles among others.
Sadly, this crime is masterminded by equally young men whose intentions from the beginning is to rape, and steal from their targets. Some of them end up forcing these ladies to strip and their  photographs taken which they would use to eventually  blackmail them all in  their bid to force their  victims to remain silent.
Luck however ran out on one of such  gang when they targeted  a  20 year old lady Kelechi Joseph.
The gang had lured Miss Joseph to a hotel in Lagos  on the pretence that they have a comedy skit role for her but that was not what she got when she arrived there.
Miss Joseph narrated her ordeal in the hands of the gang to the Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN. ACVPN  it was gathered facilitated  the arrest of the alleged mastermind a young man identifed as  Agwasim Gabriel and he is being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID Panti Yaba Lagos State police command.

We did not order arrest of protesters ---- Mouka Form

Management of Mouka form has distanced the company from reports making the rounds that it ordered the arrest of protesters.

It was gathered however that  If not for the proactive response of the  police operatives in Lagos state ason August 2nd , 2021,  some alleged  union members of Mouka Foam company would have caused a breakdown of law and order in the name of  staging  a protest against the company whom they  claimed  are working against the Union and posting them out of Lagos state in a bid  to destroy the union.

In a press briefing with journalists, the Head of Human Resources, Mouka Foam, Ifeoma Okoruen, said aggrieved persons claiming to be staff of Mouka Limited, and other paid protest merchants were behind the protest, who would have degenerated into a chaotic situation

She said "The Company is committed to investing in people to ensure capacity building and readiness for future career growth; She narrated that  and to put the record straight, Mouka Limited has a robust staff welfare with a proud tradition of providing to put the record straight, Mouka Limited has a robust staff welfare with a proud tradition of providing welfare benefits that go above and beyond the expected duty of care to the Mouka staff and their families.

“The Company is committed to investing in people to ensure capacity building and readiness for future career growth and as a good Corporate Citizen, Mouka has also significantly contributed to the local communities in which it operates”

She explained that, as part of Mouka’s continuous improvement plans, the Company recently undertook a restructuring program which engaged almost 10% of the Mouka People across all employee grades and in all locations nationwide.

“The major objectives of this exercise were to strengthen operations and to provide career development opportunities for key deserving employees”

“However, as it is the case with every progressive development in corporate organizations, a few will resent the change. Unfortunately, the resentment of the current few agitators does not align with the majority.

She explained further that the event on Thursday, August 12, 2021, whereby a few staff who were agitating unjustly for some personal demands, staged a protest which initially started as peaceful but later degenerated into harassment and attack of other staffers who had refused to be recruited into this anti-operation activity. “Even then, the company being a law-abiding corporate organization, maintains unprovoked stance even while the troublemakers continue throwing of stones and objects at distributors, visitors and other staffers of the company”

“Unfortunately, the following day, the agitating few had recruited some non-staff hoodlums to join the agitation and they became violent. When the law enforcement agents who had all along been there to maintain peace and order could no longer bear the escalating attack on persons and an attempt to attack them, they called for reinforcement and effected the arrest of the few troublemakers” she said.

She stated that, the Company is disappointed that the actions of a few led to some unsavory scenes in the roadways outside of the premises and in the immediate community while the Company used all resources available to avoid this matter escalating into a civil disturbance requiring intervention, to no avail.

“We want to state categorically, that Mouka management did not order for the arrest of any staff nor the violent few, despite the fact that the arrests have not been ordered by the management of our company, efforts are being made to resolve the issue provided the violent attack and the infringement of other workers’ rights ceases

‘”Our hope is that reason and good conscience will prevail in the circumstance as our company continues to remain focused on investing in the careers and livelihoods of our loyal, committed, and dedicated employees” she added.

It was gathered that Police in Lagos  arrested some alleged Mouka foam Union members and hoodlums that hijacked the protest who allegedly attacked the company with various dangerous weapons in Lagos.

Landlord faces eviction from his house

 ---- appeals

to FG, LASG, IGP, NBA to stop Lawyer from  forcefully  evicting him, tenants from over 60 year old Ancestral abode

The landlord and occupants of number 17 Desalu Street Ebute - Metta  West  Lagos State  are appealing to the federal , Lagos state government, the Inspector General of Police, and the Nigeria Bar Association to stop impending insecurity and breach of public peace with the use of thugs and lethal weapons to forcefully evict them from their abode.
The appeal was contained in a petition titled "security alert : the use of thugs, hoodlums and lethal weapons to wreck havoc and forcefully evict us from number 17 Desalu Street Ebute Metta West Lagos state".
Olusegun Faradoye an Administrator of the property   said " The property belonged to my late father. I was born and breed in the house with other siblings and relatives. That house is our family house and has been ours for over fifty years. When my father died,my elder  brothers started managing the house. I am one of the four administrators  of the house and since my brothers died, one Barr. Sosina came up to say that she bought the property from our late brother for N30million. I was shocked and asked how this can happened as she knows well that I am one of the administrators and I nor my lawyer signed any documents permitted by writing or words of mouth that I am a party to the sale of the house. I did not agree to the sale  and now my brother whom she claimed sold it  to her is dead. Instead of her to go through the court , she is using thugs, hoodlums with lethal weapons to forcefully evict me and other occupants. We are receiving several threats.  We are appealing to the government to call the police to order so that they will not be used alongside thugs to evict us forcefully. We have received security intelligence and  they should restrain her and her agents from  using  thugs, hoodlums with lethal weapons and  bulldozers  and with support from security agents to beat, maim and forcefully evict us".

LASG DEMOLISHES SHANTIES ON LEKKI COASTAL ROAD

Lagos State Government has reiterated its preparedness to monitor and prevent future encroachment  and illegal occupation of any part of Lekki Coastal Road, which serves as alternate route to Lekki – Epe Road, just as it demolished thousands of shanties and kiosks on the road.

The Chairman of Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce), CSP Shola Jejeloye, stated this after the removal of shanties and kiosks at Marwa Ghetto, Lekki, over the weekend.

The team, led by the Chairman, Lagos State Taskforce had visited the ghetto two weeks before a 3-day removal notice was served to warn the occupants to vacate the road for its construction.

The State Government had in December 2019, demolished all structures built on the road to pave way for its usage by motorists and other road users.

CSP Jejeloye noted that the exercise was carried out to allow for the construction of the coastal road linking Lekki to the Free Trade Zone. He added that the road would also serve as an alternative route to Lekki – Epe Expressway to enhance free flow of traffic on the corridor.

“We have enlightened the occupants on the strategic nature of the road they have built their shanties. Unfortunately, immediately it was cleared in 2019, they mobilized themselves and extended their occupation of the road.

They have turned it into hideouts for criminals. They sell drugs and some of these were siezed during our assessment of the area. Traffic robbers and other dangerous criminals dwell here. These can’t be allowed to thrive in Lekki, not even Lagos”, he added

He pointed out “the essence of the demolition is to monitor the place and safeguard it so that criminals don’t return to the place again. Government has done this in Whitesand, Ijora and other places. This is a road and nobody would use it if these criminal hideouts are not removed. No member of the public would use it if these shanties are not removed.

It is the commitment of the State Government to decongest Lekki – Epe Expressway, therefore, there is need to open up this road for residents and law abiding people to use”.

Marwa said “from the briefs given by the Benue state command, the suspect was arrested on Wednesday, 4th August 2021 at exactly 6:30am, in a bus belonging to CHI-Boy Transport Company, enroute Onitsha to Jos when the vehicle was flagged down at Aliade check-point for search.  In the process, an iron box completely welded end to end was found in the vehicle, and when the passengers were questioned to know the owner, the suspect, accepted ownership.
“When the steel box was taken to the State Command headquarters along with the suspect, an electric filing machine was used to cut it open a fabricated high calibre G3 rifle along with seventy-eight (78) rounds of life ammunition (RLA) of 7.62mm calibre and five empty shells of same were discovered inside. However, I asked that Celestine Chidiebere Christian be transferred to Abuja because of the calibre of weapon found with him, which he claims he manufactures.”
The NDLEA Chairman commended the Katsina and Benue state commands for their vigilance and unrelenting commitment to the mandate given the agency by President Muhammadu Buhari to rid the country of illicit substances and ultimately secure the nation from the activities of criminal gangs.

Family threaten, police pressure woman for reporting hubby who defiled three daughters

Family members of one Mr Emeka Christopher Orisakwe  who has been  allegedly defiling his three daughters aged 4,6,and 8 years old  have threatened his wife Mrs. Orisakwe for exposing his crime.
It was gathered that aside this threat, policemen from the Lagos state command also allegedly  pressured Mrs Orisakwe to withdraw the allegations.
It was gathered that the defilement  was reported at the Satellite police station  but the wife was forced to backed down because of pressure from family members and the police sources said.
 "They

asked her who will take of her and her children's education if the man was arrested and detained.  I was informed in June that they had family meeting between the families and warned the  man never to do what he had done.  According to the mother her brothers promised to act if they had any more news of his act.
Now that he is continuing because he did it again with the four year old two weeks ago according to the mother. Her husband's family still don't believe that the man is doing such s thing and blaming the woman for accusing their son wrongly. The lady is traumatized. The lady is insisting that she is not interested in the case any more and wants to return to the village where her family had planned to meet with them to settle the issue I was called by the wife of the suspect this morning after I left their house that the IPO from Agboju called her that they were visiting her. I said that's fine and advised her to inform them about the threat she was receiving from her husband family. Just two minutes ago she called me that the police actually came from Ikeja and pleaded with her to withdraw the case, stating that the case is a family case, that the man is the bread winner of the family and nobody will assist her if anything happened to the man. She said they told her that the man may die if the case continued and that nobody has given the man food since yesterday. They have asked her to go tomorrow and withdrawn the case. They want to settle the matter at home in the village. She doesn't want anyone to pressurize her"

Following the threats, it was gathered that child rights advocates under the auspices of Advocates For Children And Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN saw to it that  the randy father was  detained at the Gender Unit Lagos state police command  headquarters Ikeja.
The advocates also called on the Deputy Commissioner of Police SCID Panti to intervene concerning the suspect' s family threatening to deal with the mother of these victims if they should step foot in their house
The source said "They are sleeping somewhere tonight because the man had changed the locks before she got home. We were told by WARIF centre that there is an established case of sexual assault after examination of the kids and the results will be sent to Gender Ikeja . The Husband had claimed that his wife had mental problems and that nobody should take her serious but conversations with the woman reveals otherwise"
We also raised objections about going to WARIF instead of Mirabel close by but the officers on ground said that they have also been sending cases to
MIRABEL so decided to send us to WARIF so it won't be one sided".
It was gathered that a chief from the village has  been pressuring the wife Mrs Orisakwe and the child rights advocates  to withdraw the case from the police station stating that the defilement is an abomination in their village and  rituals need to be performed to cleanse the suspect and the girls from damnation and sudden death.
The child rights advocates however maintained that justice must be served in a law court as they informed Mrs Orisakwe that she would be supported financially to cater for her children when the randy father is behind bars.
Efforts to get a comment from the Lagos state police command was not successful. Sources said  at the time of this report ,the new Lagos State police command spokes person CSP Ajisebutu is yet to assume office.
