Suspected thief escapes from Lagos police station

 




A suspected thief one Daniel  Etim  has allegedly escaped from the Èlérangbe Police Station  Bojige-Lakowe Ibeju -Lekki LGA  Area J  command in Lagos state. 

It was gathered that  Etim was arrested and taken to the station  for interrogation and prosecution over allegations of diversion of tanker  and  theft of fuel. 


A source said " On the September 2020, Daniel Etim was employed at PP GOLD INVESTMENT LIMITED as the company's truck driver. Etim was assigned the role of deliveries of fuel to customers upon request from PP Gold Investment. On the 19th of July 2021, The company had purchased 7,000 liters of fuel from Apapa which was worth N2,500,000. Etim was asked to park the fuel truck at the company's address in Ajah, with 7,000 liters of fuel in the truck. Etim parked the truck as directed but without the fuel. The truck was empty. Ever since Etim has been on the run. However, the PP GOLD team summoned courage and kept checking his suspected usual spots for a trace of him and with people  that may know his whereabouts. Fortunately,  PP GOLD workers caught Daniel Etim and took him straight to Èlérangbe Police Station after Bojige-Lakowe Ibeju -Lekki LGA   Area J  command  for interrogation and prosecution process. Etim statement was collected and the PP GOLD's team as well'"

The source added that Etim had made a confessional statement that he had N400,000 in his bank account from the sales of the fuel, and he had sold another N1,100,000 to a client but yet to be paid, he was yet to give account of the remaining N1,000,000. 

"However, to our amazement, officer Akeem Fatima and officer Aisha Abu informed the complainant (PP GOLD) that the suspect had scaled  the Elerangbe Police station's fence at Area J command and escaped from the police station. Both officers said he ran away from the police station while he was changing his cloth".   
Efforts to get the reaction of the Lagos State police command spokesperson CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu were not possible as he did not respond to calls and a  text  message to his phone.
