A policeman Darambi Vandi has been sentenced to death by hanging for shooting dead a pregnant lawyer Mrs Omobolanle Raheem in Lagos in 2022 .
Justice Ibironke Harrison of a Lagos High court passed down the sentence on Monday.
Justice Harrison held that the Lagos State Government has proven the case against the convict beyond all reasonable doubt.
“The court finds the defendant guilty on one count of murder. You will be hanged by the neck till you are dead,” the judge held.
The policeman was until the unfortunate shooting ,attached to the Ajiwe police division in the Ajah area of the state.
Vambi was arraigned on January 16th 2023 on a one-count charge of murder in contravention of Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
