Ogun police arrest man for raping woman, cutting her 2 year old son's head

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 30 -year -old  man identified as  Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim on  April 16th  at Mowe area of the state for allegedly  beheading  a 2 -year- old child on April  12  at Ofada about 9.30pm

The suspect, who had earlier raped the mother of the deceased, fled the scene immediately he killed the boy and cut away his head.

The police operatives deployed to the area placed him under surveillance with the help of the members of the community before he was arrested at Mowe where he was hiding.

The suspect has confessed to the crime and he's assisting the police in their investigation. The command's Department of criminal Investigation is in charge of the matter and all hands are on deck to recover the head of the boy from where it was allegedly sold to.

The commissioner of police Ogun state CP Ikemefuna Okoye sympathised with the family of the boy and the people of Ofada area and vowed to tackle crimes and criminality in the area and Ogun state in general.

He has directed that the  case be thoroughly investigated and those found culpable be charged to court accordingly for the act is barbaric and condemned in its totality.
