BADOO LOVERS KILL SHELL MANAGER, SEVEN OTHERS

Persons seeking love via the internet have been warned  to be careful as they can fall prey to kidnappers and murderers.
The Rivers State police command issued this warning following  the arrest of a five man armed kidnapping and killer gang which specialized in luring men on social media dating site “Badoo” and thereafter, they kidnap their victims and kill them.
According to the police, the gang operate with two user names “Empress” and Cindy” on the Badoo  dating site where they pose pictures of pretty ladies they used to lure their targets who are mostly men .
Eight persons have fallen victims to the gang . Two of the victims  were  a manager  of the Shell Petroleum Development Company  Mr Progress Bisi Diji 46 and  one Mr. Shola Olasehinde  36 a  manager of a private firm in Port Harcourt .
The police later discovered the decomposing corpse of Mr. Progress after the gang was arrested.

The command in a statement said the police arrested the gang which included a lady on  April 13, 2014 at 04.30 when men of the Anti Kidnapping Unit clamped down on the  five man gang of serial kidnappers, armed robbers and murderers.
The statement read “The gang headed by one Michael Nneji Jnr. (24) from Bekwarra town, Ogoja in Cross Rivers state carries out a complex web of operations to lure their unsuspecting victims into their net. Their operation code named ‘Adventure’ with a maxim ‘Struggle: A way of survival’ involves first posing as a pretty woman on social media site, Badoo. The two main Badoo accounts used by the gang have usernames, ‘Empress’ and ‘Cindy’. After engaging their victims in chats they entice them to their operational base, an uninhabited patch of land in Ebubu, Eleme LGA, Rivers state. There they strip them of their valuables and sniff life out of them probably to cover their tracks.
Such were the unfortunate circumstances that surrounded the death of one of their recent victims, Mr Shola Olasehinde (36), manager of a private firm in Port Harcourt who the gang abducted on the 26th of March, 2014”
The police added that the only female member of the gang  helped to lure the men on phone to the killers’ den where they are dispossessed of their money and later killed .
“After being tricked on phone by the only female gang members and lover of Michael, Gift Prince (23), he was led to the gang base by Chukwu Chibueze (18) from Obuofia, Ogu LGA, Enugu who playacted the role of a house help. On getting there he was subdued by the gang and tied up by one Lekian Emadem Isaac (24) a native of Khana LGA. The group proceeded to rip him of money and ATM details before strangling and leaving him for dead in a borrow pit where the police recovered his already decomposed body. The other member of the gang, one Emmanuel Nneji (23) who claims to be a cousin of Michael Nneji had monies extracted from victims paid into his account.
The leader, Michael confessed that since May/June 2013, a total of seven (7) or eight (8) people have fallen victim. The gang also confessed to the killing of one Mr Progress Bisi Diji (46), a senior staff of SPDC in Port Harcourt. His body has also been discovered by the Police.
Luck finally ran out on these evil doers when men of the Anti Kidnapping Unit responded to a tip off and rounded them up at Ogale, Eleme LGA, Rivers state”
