Police rescue man from kidnappers hideout as informant awaitS N.2m Xavier Ndah Police detectives attached to the Festac police command have rescued a victim and have arrested nine suspected kidnappers in their bid to collect ransome. It was gathered that police swooped on the men, just as they were threatening to terminate the life of their victim should he fail to produce a N10 million. However, while the kidnappers were waiting for the money mother luck made the victim identified as Arinze Igboba, as he found a piece of paper which he wrote a note and threw it into another compound begging for help. In the note Igboba had said that he was being kidnapped and may be killed any moment from that time as he was being held captive in one of the rooms. He asked any receiver of the note to have mercy on him by contacting the police with a promise that if he was being rescued he will pay the informant the sum of N200,000 . Police said Igboba tore the net in his detention room and threw the paper out of the window. His action we gathered yielded positive as a man at a compound close to where he was being detained took the letter to the police where Deputy Superintendent of Police S.P Mukaila from Ojo police station stormed the building located at Iba to rescue the victim while the kidnappers were arrested. However, the kidnappers we gathered are now singing a different tune as they were said to be in a business deal where Igboba has outsmarted them and escaped with the proceeds of the deal. It was gathered that the rescued man was kidnapped to enable him cough out the money he escaped with to enable it be shared accordingly. Another source said the kidnappers had paid Igboba the sum of N10m to enable him facilitate their getting visas to china which never came after several promises. The man was said to have deceived them that his Chairman who is supposed to be his kingpin in the business had been on a trip to China which he said he was waiting for his arrival before they start processing their visas. The men not convinced therefore decided to teach him a lesson of his life as members of the gang which include Tochukwu Okojie, Joel, Miamani Odiz, Evarest Okonkwo, Ikechukwu Obialor, Oforma Uguju and Emeka Ezeyum became fed up with his false stories. In an effort the rescued man we gathered in a bid to pacify them had earlier taken them to Precious Hotel, located at 422 Road, in Festac town and spent N100, 000 on food and drinks for them. It was gathered he was unable to pay his bills and he then offered to leave his car as collateral a decision which the police see as an indication that he also has a case to answer as he was hiding some facts from the police. The men we gathered had after helping themselves with his food and drinks had kidnapped him and took him to a house in Iba estate where he was being kept. The rescued man we gathered was tortured and he was made to signed a cheque of N10M to enable them cash it in the bank while others were waiting for the money. Igboba said he had no money in his account but he was forced to sign the cheque out of fear as they were using hot iron and knife on his genitals. According to him, even when one of them left with the cheque we was saying his final prayers because if they find nothing in his account they might come back to kill him until God gave him the sense which led to his rescue. Dan Okoro, the Area ‘E’ police commander has vowed to pursue the matter to its logical conclusion and has vowed to deal ruthlessly with any hotel proprietors that harbor criminals and kidnappers in their hotels or guest houses. Police we gathered are working on a clue that the gang are kidnappers who had involved in such bid apparently fighting over money Reply Reply to all Forward PATIENCE OGBO Jun 19 to xavier thank you On Tue, Jun 19, 2012 at 9:34 AM, xavier ndah wrote: --- On Tue, 6/19/12, xavier ndah wrote: From: xavier ndah Subject: POLICE RESCUE KIDNAPPED VICTIM IN LAGOS To: "sam POPOOLA" , "newrooms moment" , "EMEKA IBEMERE" , "sulaimon Alamutu" Date: Tuesday, June 19, 2012, 12:28 PM Police rescue man from kidnappers hideout as informant awaitS N.2mXavier NdahPolice detectives attached to the Festac police command have rescued a victim and have arrested nine suspected kidnappers in their bid to collect ransome.
