Members of a rights group , Advocates For Children and Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN had condemned the assault and called for the arrest of Kelvin. One of the Advocates said "This man here is called Kelvin Iorfa and he is notorious for his violence against women. He is very popular in Makurdi. His latest victim is his step sister who was telling him to stop beating his wife. Luckily, the wife has escaped his violence and now it is his sister. Please we need FIDA Markurdi and all human rights organisation in Makurdi to help. They say the wife and sister have been too afraid of him to report to the authorities. Let us don't wait until another death occurs before we swing into action".
