10 years old girl "expelled" from Lagos school for "campaigning" for Peter Obi

A 10 year old girl identified as Marvelous Barinaadaa, has been made to exit from Odomola Secondary school Epe Lagos state for allegedly campaigning for Petet Obi of the Labour party.

The mother of the girl said the incident happened on March 14th. She said " My daughter  Marvelous Barinaada was exit from school by the school Principal, just because my daughter use Peter Obi poster paper to wrap her note book for school . She is just 10 years old, she didn't know anything about politics, but she was sent away from school without informing the parent, because they say we support Peter Obi and Labour party .Please, Is this act by the school Principal good, See what the school Principal wrote on that Letter. And after we will say we are one Nigerian.

The letter which was posted for urgent intervention from the Advocates For Children and Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN is  titled " Odomola Junior Secondary school Odomola Epe . Exit . Miss Barinaada Marvellous of JSS 2E is hereby permitted to go home to campaign for Peter Obi against the wish of Lagosians"

ACVPN member have since condemned the principal and the school over the issue

"How can secondary school Head teacher issue such note to a student to leave school for campaign while teaching is still going on? If you don't understand exit note, this what is called Exit Note. The school management should check"

" I think this principal is partisan and shd b made to face disciplinary action if it’s true.. what is “against the wish of Lagosians” 😪? How can you do that to a child? Tell d child to remove the Wrapped paper and warn against such "

" This is seriously wrong on every count, a child who is under 18, should have nothing to do with political campaigns"

"Am just wondering why the school Principal is so pained to throw caution to the wind to make such error., Or speak for every Nigerian in Lagos state.

As a school, they cater for different children from different families, so they ought to be partisan or manage their preference without hurting the children in their care"
