The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) , Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed who was represented by Ibrahim Farinloye , the Cordinator of NEMA in Lagos recieved 126 stranded Nigerians from Libya.
The flight, Al Buraq Air with registration number 5A-DMG Boeing 700-787 landed at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja at about 4pm with 46 adults, 2 children and 6 infants according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Mr. Farinlonye while addressing the returnees urged Nigerians to be wary of close associates ,family friends and neighbourhood elders who would deceive with sweet talk of better life in foreign land.
"These people are found cashing-in as messiah to helping Nigerians to slavery which the victims would regret through the rest of their lives.
The Director General highlighted that the new deceit being used as destination points are Iraq, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Egypt but all their victims end up in connection houses in Libya.
The Returnees were voluntarily airlifted from Misrata, Libya consisted of 62 adult females, 6 female children and 4 infant females"
Other Agencies that assisted NEMA include the Nigeria Refugee Commission, NAPTIP, SSS, Police and Immigration Service.
