Robbers shot bank customer,snatch cash. 
Deadly  armed robbers on Thursday shot a bank customer in Lagos.
It was gathered that a gang of armed robbers on power bike  stormed the bank at Idejo, off Adeola Odeku in Victoria Island, about 1pm opposite the Chinese embassy.
It was further gathered that the bank customer allegedly  withdrew some money from the Stanbic IBTC bank but he was accosted by four men who were on power bike and demanded for the money soon as he left the bank.
An eyewitness said " it seems the gang got information about the man as they trailed him but the man refused to  hand  the money to them.  The armed robbers became angry and they shot him on thec leg before they made away with the money.
Traffic robbery has been on steady increase in Lagos State recently.
The Lagos state police spokes person Joe Offor said that the police tactical operations unit have been deployed to arrest traffic robbers .
He said " The police has been arresting these armed robbers. We are not encouraging people to take up arms to protect themselves. We want to assure them that we will continue to arrest these armed robbers as the strategy we have deployed is working" 

RRS impounds 73 okada, 11 vehicles

In an effort to promote safer Lagos by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode led
administration, the Joint Task Force of Lagos State, comprising of Rapid
Response Squad and Lagos State Force today impounded 73 motor bikes and 11
vehicles, for operating outside their designated route and for plying one
way.

The team, which was led by RRS Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police,
RRS impounds 73 okada, 11 vehicles

ACP, Mr. Olatunji Disu and Task Force Chairman, Superintendent of Police,
Mr Bukola Abe, operated along Oshodi – Apapa Expressway up to Mile 2,
Oshodi and Ikeja. Amongst the vehicles impounded were two commercial buses,
two pick up vans and seven private vehicles.

The RRS Commander, ACP, Mr. Olatunji Disu, noted that the exercise was a
joint routine operation of the Rapid Response Squad and Special Taskforce,
adding that Government would not tolerate recklessness and flouting of road
laws.

The Commander maintained that laws are made to check people’s excesses and
promote orderliness in the society, adding that, Lagos must be made free
from grid – locks.

He advised motorists to obey traffic laws and be considerate to other roads
users at all times, urging them to make patience their watch word.

He said that the owners of the vehicles would be made to face the law.
