The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening inter-agency collaboration in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
Ojajuni made this known during a familiarization visit to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command, where he was received by the State Commander, Commander Tijani Rabe.
The visit highlighted the importance of sustained synergy between the Police and the NDLEA, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing, joint operations, and coordinated public sensitization aimed at curbing the menace of drug abuse in the state.
Speaking during the meeting, CP Ojajuni stressed that effective collaboration between security agencies remains key to tackling the rising challenges posed by substance abuse and drug-related crimes.
In recognition of his dedication to combating drug offences, the Police Commissioner was decorated with the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Ambassadorial Tag by the NDLEA. The honour signifies his role as an advocate in promoting a drug-free society.
Ojajuni expressed gratitude to the NDLEA for the recognition and reiterated the Ogun State Police Command’s resolve to work closely with the agency and other stakeholders to address the threat of drug abuse and its associated criminal activities.
The engagement marks a renewed commitment by both agencies to intensify efforts in safeguarding communities and promoting public safety across Ogun State.
