Why God couldn't stop the Owo Catholic church attack ----- Rev.Faloju.

 

Reverend Seyi Faloju , the head pastor of Gracepoint church  Ibadan has urged those blaming God for the Owo Catholic church attack where scores of worshippers were murdered by gun men who invaded the church  to desist from such blame game. 

Reverend Faloju said God still remains God and He is justified in all things. 

He chided those blaming God that they do not have understanding of how God works and relates with humans. 

He said " I learnt that some said  those worshippers in the Catholic church in Owo  were shouting " Jesus, Jesus"  so why didn't Jesus save them?  I tell such people to keep quiet if they don't know spiritual things. You think God is a magician who will say I order you to stop and you will stop. No that is not how God operates or relates with us. God must have put that burden of that attack on you to pray (to avert) it but you did not listen, you did not pray.You see, God is justified in all things ". 

Speaking about the 911 attack in America, Reverend Faloju said a prominent man of God questioned God why God did not prevent the attack and God replied him that He God  spoke to everyone that morning not to go to work.

Reverend Faloju advised that we should build our spiritual life so that we can connect  with God and hear from him. He emphasised the need for Christians to be vigilant and build  their spiritual lives by reading the bible, praying and spending quality time with God. 

He stated " That way you will know what to do. Where to go and when someone is lying. God is a spirit and we must worship Him in spirit and truth". 

Attacks on churches and kidnapping have seen churches heighten security and putting   measures in place to prevent attacks.  Churches are now putting up barricades, engaging police and civil defence personnel , search and use of bomb detectors at thier entrances. Security personnel are more now vigilant during service all in a bid to prevent  attacks by gun men who are targeting churches and christians. 

Driver absconds with 325 bags of soyabeans valued at N17 million.

 

There has begun a manhunt for one Olalekan Salawu a driver who has allegedly absconded with   a trailer of soyabeans worth N17million. 

It was gathered that Salawu was hired to convey  325 bags of soyabeans valued at N17 million from the Valency Agro Nigeria Limited Montana Ibadan  since April 22 but his whereabouts and that of the goods are yet to be known said a source. 

Fraudulent invoices and illegal diversion of goods have been on the rise which has given police authority concerns. 

Towards this end, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Zone 2 police command Onikan Lagos AIG Adeleke recently exposed the modus operandi of these fraudsters as he  advised  members of the public to be wary of the tricks of such fraudsters and not fall victims.  

 AIG Adeleke stated 

" This is to inform the general public especially business men and women on the illicit and fraudulent manner through which criminals operate and their modus operandi, series of petitions have been written to the *Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan Lagos* that fraudsters now sought business men and women (who deal in sales of building materials, etc) who advertise their goods through various social media platforms and also sought for potential buyers of such goods.

The criminals will contact dealers who advertise such goods on social media platforms and act like genuine buyers while they order for goods in large quantity. They also act like genuine dealers to their prospective victims and give about 3% to 5% discount in order to entice their prospective victims.

Upon indication of interest, the prospective buyer will be lured into making payment. Having made payment, the fraudsters will then give instruction to the dealer on the other hand to load the quantity of good requested by the victim with the pretext that payment will be made and confirmed on delivery before offloading of the goods.

When it has been confirmed that goods have arrived destination, the fraudster then goes incommunicado while the driver will be the one having issues with the victim who already made payment and has been expecting delivery of goods paid for; this is always done mostly on Fridays to prevent any kind of banking system retrieval.

IGP APPROVES TRAINING FOR PROs, COMMENDS UN, PORTO, CLEEN FOUNDATION FOR PARTNERSHIP

 

In order for the spokespersons in the Nigeria Police Force to be well trained and equipped to manage news,  tackle fake news  and misinformation, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has approved a strategic communication training for all Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) nationwi

According to CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi the spokesperson for the Force said the  training which is the second batch in the series holds with the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra, 31 PPROs serving at Zonal and State Commands in the Northern part of the country and Staff Officers of the Force Public Relations Department

The 3-day Strategic Communication Training Programme which would hold from Monday 20th to Wednesday 22nd June, 2022, is being organized under the Police Reform and Transformation Office (PORTO) at the Presidency, by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and  CLEEN Foundation. The programme aims to build the capacity of Police PROs to combat the trend of fake news as well as tackle disinformation and misinformation strategically in order to produce fact based communications for public consumption

The Inspector-General of Police commended  the organizers of the programme for their foresight and the smooth partnership which has birthed and sustained the programme. The IGP equally expressed high hopes that the groundwork being laid by the programme would usher in a new and positive era in the Nigeria Police F

How con men are defrauding building materials merchants, clients----AIG Adeleke

 

A new trick in town of Lagos and Ogun states whereby fraudulent invoices are being used to defraud building materials merchants and thier clients have been exposed by the Zone 2 police command Onikan Lagos.

Sex worker murdered for having Quran in her room.

Patrons of  sex workerS in Lagos have allegedly killed and burnt one  Hannah Saliu, to death and setting her corpse ablaze for keeping the Holy Quran in her room.

Hannah is however a Christian name and having a Quran by a Christian is not common. 

According to Punch newspapers,  one of the suspects patronised Saliu and after having sex with her, he reportedly paid her N1,000 for the service.

The customer was said to have left her room when she suddenly discovered that her N5,000 had gone missing.

She reportedly ran after the customer and accused him of stealing her money.

The accusation, however, degenerated into an argument.

The customer was said to have mobilised his friends to Saliu’s room to search for the missing money.

While searching the place, the friends reportedly found a Quran underneath her pillow.

A source said Saliu was questioned for possessing the Quran with the kind of job she was doing, adding that the customer and his friends, who became infuriated by the discovery, pounced on her, beat her up and set her ablaze.

The source said, “What happened was that the girl was a prostitute and a customer patronised her and after sleeping with her, the customer paid N1,000 for her service.

“But when the customer was leaving, he stole the prostitute’s N5,000 and after discovering that her money had gone missing, the prostitute chased him to ask for her money.

“The Northerners, who were with the customer that the girl accused of stealing her money, asked if she was sure that he stole her money. So, they decided to go and search her room where she attended to her customers.

“While searching the room, they found Quran under her pillow and started asking what she was using the Quran for as a prostitute. So, they started attacking her; they stabbed her, took her out and set her ablaze.

“The incident happened at Alaba Rago, where a lot of Northerners reside. The girl that was killed also came from the North. Their grouse was that she was not supposed to be carrying Quran because of the kind of work she was doing.”

The state Police Public Relations, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.

He said, “The case is at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, and three suspects have been charged to court. The incident happened in April.”

A source identified the suspects as Abubakar Musa, Sarauta Monsur, and Surajo Yusuf.
