Outrage and Uproar: Indian Doctors Protest Against Colleague's Horrific Murder

 

Indian  doctors across the nation have intensified their protests and strikes following the brutal rape and murder of a fellow  doctor, igniting a wave of anger over the persistent issue of violence against women.

Protests Erupt Nationwide

The shocking discovery of the 31-year-old  doctor's bloodied and battered body at a state-run hospital in Kolkata has triggered widespread outrage. An autopsy has revealed evidence of sexual assault, prompting the victim's parents to express suspicions of gang rape in a plea to the court.

Calls for Justice Grow Louder

Thousands took to the streets of Kolkata in a late-night rally on Wednesday to denounce the heinous crime. Police vigilantly guarded the R.G. Kar Medical College following its vandalism by unidentified perpetrators on August 15.

Demand for Action

Amidst the escalating fury,  doctors and healthcare professionals in Kolkata and other cities, including New Delhi and Nangpur, have united in demanding swift and decisive action in response to the tragic event. The horrific incident has once again brought to light the urgent need for effective measures to address the pervasive issue of violence against women in India.
