A resident of Ogbaga road, Kpirikpiri axis of Abakaliki Ebonyi State capital, Chima Eseni has allegedly killed his wife, Ugo Chima over disagreements.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ukandu Joshua said the suspect also injured his policeman neighbour while trying to separate the ill-fated fight between him and the wife.
The PPRO explained that, “The man physically assaulted the wife. She was taken to the hospital but she gave up because of the injuries inflicted on her.
“The man is in our custody,” Ukandu said.
The couple is said to have been having irreconcilable issues before it took the life of the woman.
However, in the latest issue which occurred at the weekend in the midnight, the man allegedly hit the wife and she collapsed.
When one of their neighbours who is a policeman got wind of it, he rushed to the couple’s house. Eseni who was angry, attacked him and gave him serious injuries.
Eseni’s wife was taken to the hospital through the efforts of other neighbours and sympathisers but she passed away in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested by the police over the incident.
