Police Can't Fight Crime Alone, Seeks Better Synergy

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, on Friday paid a visit to the Comptroller of Immigration Services in Rivers State at his office, in Port Harcourt with a call for better synergy between the sister agencies.

CP Disu while stating the reason for his visit said "my purpose of coming with my management team and other senior officers is to familiarize myself with you, ensure that your officers get to know officers of the command so that we can develop the synergy that is already existing between our sister agencies.

"None of us can do the job alone, we need to come together so that we can give good services to people who look up to us to ensure peace and stability in the command.

"We plead for more collaboration between the two sister agencies".

While responding, the Comptroller of Immigration Service in Rivers State, Mr. Sunday James said "apart from the Governor who is the Chief Security Officer of the state, you are next. I  thank you for deeming it fit to come despite your position.

"Your coming today is like re-igniting relationship that existed between myself and senior police officers at Force Headquarters.

"Whenever I hear our junior officers having issues, what comes to my mind is that do they realize we are serving one Government.

"The goal of all the security agencies is to secure the nation. I don’t think there is any other thing outside securing the nation, if we fail to secure our nation our job as sister agencies are at stake.

"Our senior officers have been collaborating at headquaters, we must do the same at our level. When we pass it to the junior officers there won’t be any rancour between the sister agencies. When at this level we are having problem there is no way our junior officers will not fight for superiority.

"The fracas we see between our junior officers may be that we are preaching other things to our junior officers. We must do the right thing by correcting the wrong at our level. I have never tolerated indiscipline in my command since I came.

"We don’t need to wait for things to be bad before we resolve the issues. We should continue the mutual relationship working for us.

The Rivers Immigration Boss reassured the Commissioner of Police of his continuous collaboration.
