ACVPN rescues woman from abusive husband.

A business woman Mrs. Oluchi Azuka is not only in pains but is also calling for help over the incessant beatings she receives  from her husband and father of her children.
She said her marriage to her motor spare part dealer husband in the last eleven years have been  traumatic and a near death experience which she cannot continue to cover up adding that her husband looks for the flimsiest excuse to pounce on her thereby leaving her with bruises and black eyes.
Following her latest ordeal in the hands of her husband where he almost left her blind, Mrs. Azuka summoned courage and ran for her dear life as she reached out to  the Advocate for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network ( ACVPN) for help.
Narrating her husband's constant beating, Mrs Azuka said " My husband beats me at the slightest opportunity he has. This particular incident happened as a result of a young man who came to our house to fix our fan. My husband was angry that he was not at home and I allowed a young man to come into the house. He went on to probe us by saying why was the young man  sweating and I too was sweating too. He asked why the young man locked the room but the young man said the door locked by itself. He went on to tell me that I have guts to bring a man to our house to sleep with me ?He started quarreling after the young man left. I know that the next thing is to pounce on me so I ran out to call my neighbours to help beg him. He got infuriated when he saw our neighbour and his wife and right in their presence he hit me in the eye. I fell to the floor screaming but my neighbours left me and my husband kept  pouncing on  me. I ran out of the house with blood gushing from my eye. This is not his first time beating me. He has done it more than four times, inspite  of this, I am fending for my family. I am not interested in the marriage anymore. He should be given serious warning not to hit me again "
It was gathered that the   IBA Police Station is investigating the  attack and has since arrested the suspect.

Police handed my 11 months old child to her father who assaulted me and abducted her for suspected ritual purpose ---- Business woman.

A business woman  Dania Ebunoluwa  is calling on the acting  Inspector General of Police IGP Akali Baba to investigate policemen attached to the Gender Unit Lagos State police command for allegedly giving custody of her 11 months old daughter to her father one Ibrahim Oladipo after he assaulted her and made away with the baby.

Miss Ebunoluwa said she is a victim of an alleged fraudulent relationship orchestrated by Mr Oladipo who got her pregnant but abandoned her to her fate with the child but for his sinister motive, has turned around to abduct the same baby he told her to abort .
In her pleas to the IGP , Mrs Ebunoluwa said instead of the police in Gender Unit State police command Lagos  to help retrieve her child turned around to support him.
Narrating her ordeal, she said " I  met Ibrahim Oladipo  in 2018  and he asked me out on date.I agreed. In the long run, I got pregnant and I told him and his  mother  but  they didn’t accept the child and asked me to abort the baby. While I was pregnant , I met one Mr Lekan and I told him that I was pregnant and he accepted me with my pregnancy and he did marriage introduction . After five months of giving birth to the baby girl called DAVINA ,Ibrahim Oladipo insisted on carrying out a DNA which came out positive. Before and after the birth of the baby,my family  which is my father ,mum and fiancé were the ones who  took all  the responsibilities of my child. They paid all necessary bills  and took perfect care of her. While my father who is a retired commander in the Navy was planning my wedding with my fiancé  which was supposed to hold on the 4th of may 2020, Ibrahim came to our house to show interest in getting married to me ,he insisted that I was the one he wanted to marry. My dad had to put the wedding with my fiance on hold . My dad asked him to come with his family to collect the engagement list but he didn’t come back for the list. After two months, he called my  parents that he was not interested in the marriage because we are not compatible ,which is not even true , the main reason why he ended the relationship with me was because he  impregnated another lady. All this happened on the 16th of May 2020 Ibrahim Oladipo tricked me to a restaurant  in LEKKI phase 1. He was there in the company of some lady who pretended to an event planner , after some minutes he assaulted ,humiliated and beat me to stupor which I acquired a severe injury on my face and I fainted  , he assaulted me and took my 11 months old baby and ran away , when I woke up from fainting  I discovered that he has kidnapped my baby and ran away .For two weeks I didn’t see my daughter  until on June 2nd  where the Ikeja police command invited us and they handed a 11 months old baby to  Ibrahim . I’m so scared and worried that Ibrahim has my child for fetish purposes . When I saw my daughter on  June 2nd in the police premises ,my heart was bleeding because my daughter was not  in a good state she has been treated badly and all  my efforts to know where the location of my baby was proved abortive hence I came to the Gender Unit at SCID Panti to assist me on retrieving my baby  While I was waiting for progress on the case, I honored the invitation of the Police at Ikeja command where I saw my baby for the first time in two weeks.I saw the baby in a bad state , I tried to hold and touch my baby then a fight ensued between us.The OC  gender in police headquarters CSP Gladys Faniyitayo refused to give me audience and she threw all of us out including my parents .my father tried to introduce himself and she shunned him. My mum tried to beg and appeal with her but she threw her out of her office  . I don’t understand why my baby who was stolen from me  by the father who is a student and doesn’t have a clear source of  income.. was given to the same man by ASP Bimbo of Gender Unit, Police State Headquarters Ikeja without allowing me to tell my side of the story. The entire Gender unit  team at the police  headquarters seemed to be acting a script written by Ibrahim. My father a retired senior officer in the Navy and my mother were present Right now I’m worried because of how she was looking emaciated and unkept , I’m begging CSP Gladys Faniyitayo to help recover my child and keep her safe before my daughter is  used for ritual purpose . My baby who is breastfeeding was stolen from me by Ibrahim Oladipupo after assaulting me in public two weeks ago, has now been handed over to the same Ibrahim who assaulted me"
Efforts to get the reaction of Mr. Oladipo was futile as his phone was not reachable.
Condemning the incident, Mr. Ebenezer Omejalie, coordinator of Advocates For Children And Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN  said "We call on our amiable responsive DC Gender Coordinator/Special Adviser to the IGP, PPRO Lagos Police Command IKEJA this injustice should not be allowed to stand by such officers who have received several capacity building on both Gender Based violence and Child Protection. He is bragging that he has N2million to bribe the police"
It was gathered that the Aunt Landa Bethel foundation has taken over the case.

Auctioneers die of hunger, high blood pressure as Lagos CP "refuses" to work with licensed private auctioneers

Two  auctioneers licensed to auction and dispose off abandoned vehicles in police stations in Lagos state police command have reportedly died of high blood pressure and hunger as they have  been rendered jobless since Lagos State commissioner of police CP Hakeem Odumosu assumed office.
The deceased auctioneers simply identifed as Mr.  Tajudeen and Mr.  Innocent were among over thirty auctioneers  who said they have not been allowed to auction any abandoned vehicles in police stations in Lagos police command since the Lagos state commissioner of police CP Hakeem Odumosu assumed office.
An auctioneer said " Innocent is from Imo State and Tajudeen is from Oyo State and they have been auctioneering vehicles long before CP Odumosu came on board. They died  due to hunger, high blood pressure as they cannot pay their bills and fend for their families. The CP is not working with any of us and we are official auctioneers licensed by the police. We register every year but since last year ,none of us have been allowed to auction any vehicle.  Our members are dying. Others are sick and many like myself cannot pay rent, school fees and take care of our family because CP Odumosu has taken away our means of livelihood. The other day ,my landlord told me my house rent had expired. I couldn't pay him. I have been begging him to exercise patience but till when?"
Auctioneers who spoke on condition of anonymity over fear of being victimised said " Since the time the Lagos state commissioner of police CP Hakeem Odumosu assumed office last year, he has prevented us from auctioning any vehicle. He said he is not ready to work with us. When we showed him our licence and authorization to auction police abandoned vehicles which we have been doing for more than twenty years, he still insisted that he does not want to work with us . We asked him who he wants to work with but he refused to reply us".
A resident in Lagos Marcus King said the police handling of auction of abandoned vehicles is vague.
He said " The  CP Odumosu said through a statement by the Lagos State police command spokesperson CSP Muyiwa Adejobi that  members of the public can visit the police stations for their vehicles but what station can we go to? When the auctioneers were handling the issue of abandoned vehicles in police station, they will list the vehicles, the make, colours and the plate numbers of the vehicles in addition , they will tell the public through newspaper publication what stations the vehicles are but the CP's order on abandoned vehicles since he took over that aspect has not given all the necessary details .These abandoned vehicles were seized or tolled by Task Force police and others , the vehicles can be kept at any location so where can we go to look for them? I will advise that the job of the professionals should be left to professionals. Let the CP allow the auctioneers do their job".

Following the alleged stoppage of their legitimate job, the auctioneers said they are finding it very difficult to fend for their families.
" I do not understand why the Lagos state commissioner of police CP Hakeem Odumosu would stop us from our legitimate means of livelihood. He is there enjoying himself as a CP earning all the salaries and the peck that comes with his exalted office but he refused to allow us make earns to cater for our families. We know how the Covid-19 pandemic affected everyone but those badly hit are those non salary earners like us so its been very difficult for us to feed , take care of children fees, pay rents and fulfil other financial obligation".

The auctioners therefore appealed to the new IGP  and the police  high command to prevail on the Lagos state commissioner of police CP Hakeem Odumosu to work with them.
"We are appealing to the new IGP Baba to come to our rescue and the government to intervene as all our appeal , cry and even death of our members have not moved CP Odumosu. When the former Lagos CP Edgal Imohimi was in power, he also denied us from our legitimate job. He only allowed one of us to be the auctioneer. Later , that auctioneer, allowed us to auction with him and we were back in business but CP Hakeem Odumosu has stopped everyone of us. We wonder who is now auctioning over five  thousand abandoned vehicles since he became CP, where are these vehicles? Who is keeping them?"
When contacted , Lagos state police command spokesperson CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi did not  reply to the inquiry.

BBC AFRICA EYE REPORTER PETITIONS IGP , FPRO OVER THREAT TO LIFE FOR EXPOSÉ ON BREKETE HOST, FAMILY

A British Broadcasting Corporation African Eye  reporter Mr. Peter Nkanga has petitioned the acting  Inspector General of Police  Usman Baba and the police spokesperson CP Frank MbA over alleged threat to his life by Abuja based Human Rights radio host popularly known as Brekete Connect Mr. Ahmed Isah.
The petition read
Dear Mr. Mba,

I am reaching out to you because I don't feel safe. What is worrying me and really affecting my family is that for over a week, the Police are yet to act on the clear threats to my personal safety.

On Tuesday, 25 May 2021, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) submitted an official letter with corroborating evidence to the Inspector-Genaral of Police regarding harassment, cyberbullying and threat to my life and others.

It is over a week now, and I am following up to know the status of the letter and the actions that the Police have taken, most particularly for Ahmad Isah of the Human Rights Radio 101.1Fm to be invited to sign an undertaking that no harm will befall me, my family and BBC crew. This is because the harassment and threats were occasioned by our phone numbers released on his Live programme to the public.

I am reaching out to you Mr Mba because I don't feel safe. Truth be told, I won't feel safe until Ahmad signs this undertaking for at least two (2) reasons:

1). Because Ahmad is someone with power & influence who boldly lied on his Live show when he told his followers and the whole world that I and the BBC plotted to kill him. This was a premeditated lie with malicious intentions.

2). Because Ahmad, in at least one similar instance that I know, got his mob to harass and threaten a station manager at LoveFM some years back. I spoke to the station manager who had to insist that the Police get Ahmad to sign an undertaking. The importance of getting this undertaking for my safety must be emphasised.

Family, friends and associates, at home and abroad, feel the same way. We are calling on the Police to intervene to nip the threat to my life and ensure the safety of me, my family and the BBC crew by getting Ahmad to sign an undertaking.

Thank you.

Peter Nkanga
