"We will demolish Police Barracks, they need urgent rehabilitation.."- Police Trust Fund Chair

 





Chairman, Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF),  Ex IGP Suleiman Abba has expressed dismay over the sorry state of police barracks. 
He stated this   during a tour of police barracks in  Ijeh and police College in Lagos stated that the Police Trust Fund will not hesitate to demolish police barracks that are in distress and below habitable standard 

At  the assessment of Ijeh barracks, he said "What I am seeing today are dilapidated barracks. If I have another place for the policemen,  I would have relocated them and then go on to demolish the barracks to  a human habitable status". 

Ex IGP Abba bemoaned lack of water and leaking roofs in almost all the barracks. He equally promised to renovate the barracks that are still good to a human habitable status, with the provision of modern toilets, tap water and other amenities that will make life enjoyable for the policemen. 

 Ex IGP  had in his entourage, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP. Hakeem Odumosu, Commissioner of Police in charge of Works, Department of Logistics and Supply; CP. Aliyu Abubakar, Area Commander, Area 'A' Lion Building; ACP. Bode Ojajuni and others, evaluated the state of dilapitation of Ije Barracks at Obalende area, Mopol 20 Police Barracks and the Police College at Ikeja.

  He further emphasised  that  President  Muhammadu Buhari led administration is the first government in Nigeria to initiate the Police Trust Fund in order to improve and place  the Nigeria Police ahead of her global counterparts especially in the areas of trainings, welfare, logistics, for a more efficient security delivery in the Country.
Following the assessment, the policemen he interfaced with  during his tour applauded him.
