 Lagos State police command gets new spokesperson

The Inspector General of police IGP Muhammed Adamu has appointed a  former police spokesperson in  Zone ‘2’ command Onikan Lagos state and Ogun State police command  Superintendent of Police (SP) Muyiwa Adejobi as the new Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer.

Adejobi’s  was Personal  Assistant to the  Deputy Inspector General of police  in charge of operations, Mr Abdulmajid Ali who is now retired. 

Adejobi who hails from Osun State had attended courses including: Superintendent of Police Course 22, Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State; Police Mobile Force Training, Gwoza Camp, Maiduguri, Citizenship and Leadership Training, Shere Hills, Jos; Conflict Handling Styles, University of Ibadan; Public Relations Skills and Styles, Force Public Relations, Nigerian Police Force, Abuja, and completing the Development of Nigeria Police Force Media and Communications Strategy, Abuja.

He had also attended leadership training course at Pointman Leadership Institute, United States of America (USA), Public Relations Strategies, organized by the U.S. Embassy, Abuja; Public Relations and Effective Policing of Nigeria, in Abuja; mandatory continuing professional development course, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR); Efficiency Skill for Law Enforcers Worldwide by International Association of Chiefs of Police, Philadelphia, United States of America (USA), and several conflict management, human rights, community policing, public relations principles courses at various stages and areas within and outside Nigeria

Adejobi had held prominent positions including Corps Liaison Officer, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Nnewi North Local Government, Nnewi, Anambra State; Parade Commander, Squad 6, Cadet ASP course 22, Police Academy, Kano, Second-in-Command, General Parade Commander, Ogun State Command, Operations Officer, Sagamu Division, Ogun State; Officer in charge Anti Bank Robbery and Pipeline Vandalism, Sagamu, Administrative Officer, Department of Operations, Ogun State Command, Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command; Police Public Relations Officer, Zone ‘2’ Command, Onikan, Lagos; Operations Officer, Department of Operations, Lagos State Command, and Directing Staff, Police College Ikeja, Lagos

He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Pointman Leadership Institute, USA, International Association of Chiefs of Police, United States of America (USA), Institute of Corporate Administration, Nigeria; Boys Brigade, Anglican Communion, Nigeria; Fellow, Alpha Club, University of Ibadan as well as several social clubs, Nigeria and abroad.

Adejobi had received awards and medals including commendation award by National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Anambra State, Inspector General of Police commendation certificate, Best Police Public Relations Officer in West Africa by Security Watch Africa, Dubai; United Arab Emirate (UAE), best Police Public Relations Officer in Nigeria by Security Watch Africa, Johannesburg South Africa; merit award by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ogun State Chapter and best Police Image maker of the year, by Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN).

Others awards are best State Police Public Relations Officer of the Year by National Crime Watch, Outstanding Public Relations Professional Award by Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ogun State Chapter, Merit Award by Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council, Outstanding Police Officer Award by Uhuru Times, Merit Award by Boys Brigade Nigeria, 71st Ibadan Company, Merit Award by Teachers Club of Nigeria, Ogun State; Distinguished Award by National Association of Theatre Art Practitioners, Ogun State; Distinguished Award by National Association of Owu Students, Ogun State; Distinguished Award by the National Association of Nigerian Students, and Award of Excellence by Rotaract Club International, Federal College of Education (FCE), Abeokuta
